My Story

My interest in hypnotherapy dates back to 1984 when I was pregnant with my second son. My dentist offered hypnotherapy and he provided me with a few sessions to assist me with child birth.  I had experienced a difficult labour with my first son who was born in 1982. To my delight the sessions worked and I had no need for drugs with the exception of Entonox.

I was a convert as regards hypnotherapy. My life continued and in 1992 I gave birth to a daughter and I thought once again of the benefit of self-hypnosis. I did not envisage hypnosis becoming my main career choice at this time.

I am a solicitor and I have a Diploma in Forensic Medical Science. I specialised in the law relating to mental health, learning disability and fatal accident enquiry work plus contaminated land issues whilst I worked as a lawyer.

The work was interesting and often challenging. After thirty two years of practising law I decided to opt for a career change.

I wished to focus on a career I believed in to use my skills to help others. I opted for Clinical Hypnotherapy training. I enrolled to complete a certificate course and then a Diploma course. My teacher was Andy Griffiths who runs “Piece of Mind Hypnotherapy”. Andy is an excellent teacher and mentor. I initially met Andy as a client of his as I required help with anxiety.

Although hypnotherapy covers many topics I specialise in providing help to clients who are experiencing mental health issues, lack of confidence, physical and mental pain, bereavement, phobias, loss of well being and happiness or those who want to give up smoking or have dietary issues.

I have studied, read and researched hypnotherapy for several years. I believe strongly in the teachings of Milton H Erickson. I have visited The Erickson Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and met Jeffrey K Zeig PhD Director & Founder. I hope to return there next year.

I wish to provide clients with the tools to cope with their issues and build a strategy that will change their lives for the better forever. It is possible.

My Approach

I have a comfortable therapy room with it's own separate entrance from the house in which clients can relax in a peaceful atmosphere. There is a bathroom within the room and it is equipped with hand sanitisers and it is cleaned with anti-bacterial wipes between client consultations.

Sessions tend to be 40 minutes long and on a one to one basis. My charges are £50 per session.

I am happy to have a ten minute telephone consultation free of charge in advance of a session.
